I am a shooting director and editor with 20 years experience in the industry, I’m based in the UK but I work globally across a wide range of sectors.
I like to adopt a relaxed mood with the people I’m filming, in my experience keeping the shooting process as intimate as possible gets the best results - whether it’s the documenting of someones story or filming in their home or workplace. In my experience that intimacy helps foster a relaxed atmosphere, one that isn’t as easily forged with a larger production entourage - as such, people tend to be more open when sharing their stories and experiences.
I like to think I bring this type of honesty and integrity to a set when I’m directing too, so although there is a large crew, this philosophy still holds true when dealing with the actors and crew alike.
For me, understanding a client or brand is key to getting great results and although shooting pretty things on my RED cameras is obviously important, communicating the right tone of voice is paramount, right through to when I start the editing process.
